Obituary For Penney S. VanKirk

Penney S. VanKirk, 71, of Amsterdam, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. She was born in Steubenville on April 14, 1955 a daughter of the late Frank J. and June E. Hainsworth VanKirk, Sr. She was employed at Moe’s Pizza. Preceding Penney in death was her brother Charles VanKirk.

Penney is survived by her daughter Heather M. Shaffer and favorite son-in-law Dan Shafer & son Joshua D. Smith; three grandchildren Beaux Shaffer, Haylee Shaffer & Zack Smith; three great grandchildren Abel, Hudson & Giselle; brothers Frank J. (Betsy), John R. (Barb), & George E. (Sharon); sisters Ruth Ann Williams & June L. Smith.

Friends may attend a celebration of life service with Rev. Larry Garrison officiating at Shorac Family Center, 166 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
