George F. “PEARCE” Cable 96 of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, December 29, 2003 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 30, 1907 a son of the late Dan M. and Mary Elizabeth Pearce Cable. He retired from Weirton Steel Co. Research and Chemical Dept. Pearce was a very active member of Wintersville U.M. Church and United Methodist Mens where he served as chaplain for many years. He also was a member and past master of Pilgrim Lodge 691 F &AM and served as a Boy Scouts Master for 33 years. He served in Army Air Corps during WWII. Pearce was preceded in death by his wife Leota Everson Cable on March 17, 2002 and one brother Daniel McCook Cable. Surviving are his son Charles W. Cable of Kent, Ohio and granddaughter Kate Cable of Knoxville, TN. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Masonic Lodge services 11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be sent to Wintersville U.M. Church Memorial Fund.
