Obituary For Paula M. Nutter

Paula M. Nutter, 89, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 3, 1934 a daughter of the late Paul C. Bougher and Katherine V. Reid Fulton. She was a graduate of Steubenville High School and a member of Wintersville Methodist Church. Her other memberships include Women’s Aglow, Woodland Garden Club, Wintersville Woman’s Club, and Steel Valley Antique Car Club.

A wife, mother, and homemaker, Paula was active in church activities, and singing in the choir, loved gardening, wildlife, especially birds, snow in the winter, playing cards, road trips in her husband’s antique car, and Reba McEntire music.

Paula was preceded in death by her two husbands William D. Hardey and Jack L. Nutter, infant son Mark Hardey, siblings Virginia Smith and James Bougher.

Paula is survived by her daughter Valerie (David) Schayes; sons William (Denise) Hardey, James (Kate) Hardey, and Brian Hardey; stepson Thomas (Pamela) Nutter; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Beth Hardey and brother Michael Bougher.

Private services will be held at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.

    My company did landscape work for Paula a couple times and we became friends. We both shared a love for plants & The Lord! I've been thinking about her recently and will miss her.

    I first met Paula when we worked at Forestors Nursing Home and then reconnected with her through garden club several years later. Paula was a very kind classy lady who I alway enjoyed spending time with. My sincere condolences to her family.

    I am so blessed to have been able to meet Paula and her wonderful family. I love you all so much. I will never forget her and all the kindness from the whole family. I enjoyed spending so much time with her during the last months.
