Paul R. Hawkins, 86, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away suddenly on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1925 in Lisbon, Ohio a son of the late Frank & Edna Van Fossan Hawkins. He was a retired technician from Ohio Bell Central Office and an Army Air Corps WWII veteran. Paul was a 1944 graduate of Jefferson Union High School and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his sister Frances Miller.Surviving are his wife Mildred P. Brondos Hawkins; son Steve (Linda) Hawkins and daughter Chris (Sam) Davis both of East Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren Kristen (Brandon) Ashwood, Jennifer Hawkins,M.D., Amy (Bill) Reed & Adam (Jessica) Davis; seven great grandchildren Samuel, Benjamin, Isaac, Owen, Taylor, Abigail & Tyler and brother H. Wayne Hawkins of Steubenville.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 4-7 p.m. On Tuesday, friends may call at St. Mark Lutheran Church from 10a.m. until the time of services at 11a.m. with Vicar Eric Rapp officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church,133 Lovers Lane, Steubenville, OH 43953.
