Paul Chiles Schoenfeld 84 of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, January 23, 2003 at home of natural causes. He was born in Girard, Ohio on November 26, 1918 a son of the late Charles and Rachel Chiles Schoenfeld. Paul was a graduate of Miami University of Ohio in Oxford, a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute and served in the US Navy as an operations officer on destroyers during WWII. He retired from National Steel Sales Department in 1984. He was preceded in death by one sister Evelyn Rough and a niece Ann Hammerschmidt. Surviving are his wife Kathryn McDowell Schoenfeld; two sons Paul C. (wife Rebecca) Schoenfeld II of Long Branch, NJ and Seth E. Schoenfeld of Memphis, TN and two grandchildren Joshua and Rachel Schoenfeld of Long Branch. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 4-7 p.m. where services will be held at noon on Monday with Rev. Bethel Bateson officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Shriners Hospital
