Obituary For Paul C. Majewski

Born Paul Casimir Majewski in Steubenville, Ohio on the 29th of July 1948 to Casimir Stanley Majewski and Pauline Magdalene (Karpowicz) Majewski.

Paul attended and graduated from St. Stanislaus Grade School in 1962, graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School 1966, graduated Educational Institute of Pittsburgh in March 1968 with a degree in Design & Engineering Drafting. Attended Kent State University in 1968. Worked at Jefferson County Engineering Department in 1969. He was drafted and enlisted in United States Navy “Seabees” in August 1969. Served with 20th NCR in Gulfport, Mississippi, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape training with Navy Seals in Coronado, California, Advanced Individual Training at Port Hueneme, California, serving as Expeditor for Pendleton, California before Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 301 in Chu Lai, Republic of Vietnam in April of 1969 to October of 1971 the discharged on 17th of December 1971. Returned to Jefferson County Engineering Department in January 1972.

Paul married Tina Hicks on the 11th of May of 1974 having three children: Carrie Wozniak (Dave), Paul A. Majewski (Sheila) and Tina “Nini” Majewski (Jason Payne). He also has five grandchildren: Camryn, Sammy, Grayson, Noah, and Eli. They lovingly called him Dzia Dzia. Paul also has one sister, Anna M. Majewski who resides in Fullerton, California.

Paul coached Richmond league baseball and softball as well as Lil’ Yellowjackets & Wildcat Jr. football. Paul was also a member of Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He worked at Weirton Steel 28 years in the Garage and Boiler House. During Mill layoffs he was employed by McDonald Engineering in Chicago, Illinois, was a Field Inspector at Frank Thomas and Associates in Akron, Ohio. Paul was a member, Trustee, and Vice President PNA Group 652, a member of PNA Council 50, and a member of American Legion Post 33. Paul was a member and base guitarist for numerous bands including Oddysee, Basics, Flashback, Banned X, and Culprit. Paul attended St. Stanislaus, North American Martyrs, and Holy Rosary Churches.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Gossett officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
