Obituary For Patricia Elaine Schnabel

On April 7, 2016, God called home Patricia Elaine (Preble) Schnabel. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Steubenville on October 5, 1922 the daughter of the late John W. and Florence Yocum Preble. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Chris J. Schnabel, who passed away on September 16, 1986 and her brother John H. Preble. She graduated from Steubenville High School in 1940 and worked for the purchasing department of Weirton Steel and the Veterans Administration. She then focused on raising her children and being a caregiver to her family members. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Steubenville, Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Steubenville Y.W.C.A. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and church. Patricia is survived by her son Chris J. Schnabel and fiancée Karen Donell; daughter Karen A. DiCesare and husband John; grandchildren Lynne (Josh) Gerber, John C. (Amanda) DiCesare, Michael J. DiCesare and Nicholas J. DiCesare and great granddaughter Remi K. Gerber. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. where funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 1p.m. with Pastor Shawn Smith officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 220 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952.
