Pat R. Pownall, 75, of Wintersville, OH died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on September 24, 1940 a son of the late Frank and Catherine Moran Pownall. Pat served in the Vietnam War and retired after a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 1959 graduate of Wintersville High School and was an avid golfer having belonged to the Highland Springs Senior Golf Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Pat K. Pownall. He is survived by his wife Alice Leavitt Pownall; daughter Laura Cade of Steubenville; sons Paul (Kathryn) Pownall of Wellsburg, WV and Phillip Pownall of Glen Carbon, IL; brothers Larry, George and Lee Pownall; grandchildren John Cade II, Stephen and Katelyn Pownall; great granddaughter Avanna Belle. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 4 p.m. until time of services at 6:30p.m. with Raymond Hagood officiating. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct honors at the funeral home. We will miss the happy and smiling, always encouraging laughter of Pat. Very sorry not able to attend funeral. Pat was the "ONE Man" we all wanted to spend time with on the golf courses we played.
