Owen A. Ridenour, 85, of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, November 16, 2009 at Trinity West. He was born June 20, 1924 in State College, PA the son of the late C.O. and Elizabeth Andrews Ridenour. He was a retired metallurgist and superintendent of inspection for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and an Army veteran of WWII serving in Okinawa. Owen was a member of Wintersville U.M. Church and enjoyed playing the keyboard. He entertained passengers from the Delta Queen, Mississippi Queen and American Queen riverboats when they docked in Wellsburg. He also played with a dance band in the Dennison-Urichsville area. For several years, Owen bowled with the Sunday 7 Mixed League, City League & Inter-City League. Owen is survived by his wife June M. Duvall Ridenour and son Gary Ridenour of Smithfield, Ohio.Private burial was held at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorials may be directed to Wintersville Volunteer Fire Dept. -or- Wintersville U.M. Church.
