Obituary For Norman Lee Freed

Norman Lee Freed, 68, surrounded by family in his home, returned to be with the Lord on October 1st, 2018. After bravely battling his illness of Lymphoma Cancer with strength and courage for the past eight months; his devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Norman was born to the late George and Betty Jane (Adams) Freed on November 26th, 1949 in Canton, Ohio. He was a devoted husband to Linda (Monfred) Freed for 47 years. A proud father of daughter, Renee (Freed) Reed married to George Reed III of Wintersville, Ohio, and son Scott Lee Freed of Columbus, Ohio. He was a loving grandfather to Georgia (Reed) Brinkman married to Shawn Brinkman of Columbus, Ohio and Brittany (Reed) Jacobs married to Charles Jacobs of Mingo Junction, Ohio. He was the great-grandfather to Harper Marie Jacobs, the pride and joy of his life. He was the big brother to his sister, Gloria (Freed) Mackey married to David Mackey of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Norman was a retired Patrolman from R&G Steel, formerly Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel with over 40 years of service. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Henry Lewis officiating. A reception will be held at Blessed Sacrament on Main Street in Wintersville following the burial services at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville. In lieu of flowers, Norman wishes to have donations made out to St. Vincent De Paul of Blessed Sacrament, 852 Main Street, Wintersville, Ohio, 43953.

    Linda and Family,I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband.  I'm sure your heart is breaking but soon you'll think of all the great memories you two shared.  I'm sure your children and grandchildren will have a hole in their lives for some time but soon all the wonderful times will flood their memories and a smile will come to all of your faces.  Sending prayers and condolences to all of you.
