Obituary For Norma Jean Channels

Norma Jean Channels, 77, of Bloomingdale, OH died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Trinity West Medical Center. She was born in Metropolis, IL on June 14, 1928 a daughter of the late Jesse and Versie Sleeter Wadeking. Preceding Norma Jean in death were her husband Gerald E. Channels on October 2, 1986; son Gary Channels; two brothers Laymon Wadeking, Jr. and Charles Wadeking; and sister Bonnie Hampton. Norma Jean graduated from Spencer High School in Spencer, WV. She was the owner and operator of J & G Hardware and Stallion Antiques; and a retired cashier from Big Lots. She attended Bloomingdale United Methodist Church and was a former member of Friendship Club of Wintersville; New Beginnings, Steubenville; and Belvedere Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Norma Jean is survived by four sons Doug (Bonnie) Channels of Salem, OH, Dennis (Sue) Channels, Danny (Sue) Channels, and Dean Channels all of Bloomingdale, OH; daughter Janet (John) Nemeth of Wintersville, OH; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters Marion Page of Kentucky and Pat (Tom) Thorne of Indiana. A memorial service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at Bloomingdale United Methodist with Rev. Deborah Kellar officiating. Arrangements handled by Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville.
