Nick “Ike” Ivkovich, 80, of Steubenville passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Bolger Country Club Manor. He was born in Steubenville on October 6, 1936 a son of the late Nick and Mildred Yurjevic Ivkovich. Nick retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked in the machine shop. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. Nick was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church and a 1954 graduate of Steubenville High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Peter, Samuel and Mike Ivkovich and his sister Mary Louise Brown. Nick is survived by his wife of 54 years Donna J. Huntington Ivkovich; son Ross (Lori) Ivkovich of Steubenville; grandson Deric Holsinger of Greensboro, NC; granddaughter Nadia Hawthorne of Steubenville; sister-in-law Helen Ivkovich of Odessa, FL; nephews Brian (June) Ivkovich of Odessa, FL, Dr. Thomas (Suzanne) Brown of Wintersville, OH and Sam (Rosemary) Ivkovich of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 10a.m. with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Military will conduct graveside honors. Pomen service Tuesday 6:30p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: Steubenville High School Scholarship Fund in Nick’s memory, 420 North 4th St., Steubenville, OH 43952.
