Nicholas Anthony Mougianis 76 of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at D&D Quality Care, Weirton, WV. He was born in Warren, Ohio on August 15, 1925 a son of the late Anthony N. and Archondula Mavrikis Mougianis. Nick retired from Nationwide Insurance Company in 1996 as district sales manager after 46 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH.; All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton, WV and St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, Bradenton, FL. Nick’s other community involvement included serving as board president of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church; Jefferson Community College; Jefferson County Childrens Services; Steubenville Lions Club; Salvation Army; Steubenville Credit Bureau; and AHEPA and retaining membership in O.S.U. Alumni Assn.; American College of Life Underwriters; Steubenville Elks; V.F.W. and American Legion Argonne Post 33; Masonic Lodge 691 F&AM. He served in US Army during WWII and was preceeded in death by one sister Catherine Manners and two nephews Anthony Petsakos and John Manners. Surviving are his wife Amelia “Millie” Kirlangitis Mougianis whom he married October 7, 1956; one son Anthony (Vangelle) Mougianis of Wintersville, Ohio; one daughter Angie (Eric) Kirsch of Steubenville; four grandchildren Alexandra and Nicole Mougianis and Nicholas and Christian Kirsch; three sisters Mary (Pete) Liadis, Julie (Jimmy) Gianakos and Gracie (Steve) Petsakos all of Warren, OH and nine nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9. Friends may also call at Holy Trinity Greek Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Very Rev. Dean Dimon officiating. Entombment at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Lodge 691 services 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Trisagion services 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity or All Saints Greek Orthodox Churches.
