Nellie M. Babicz, 88, of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Trinity West. She was born May 4, 1922 in Steubenville a daughter of the late Joseph & Anna Augustynowicz Sawicki. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Nellie and her late husband operated Babicz Grocery on Highland Avenue in Steubenville for many years. Preceding Nellie in death were her husband Stanley on January 14, 1993; son Eugene J. Babicz on September 4, 1995; granddaughter Gina Babicz; brother Frank Sawicki; and four sisters Joie Grant, Stella Krosky, Mary Sawicki & Anna Pawlowski.Surviving are her son Stanley A. (Rebecca) Babicz, Jr. and their children Bradley & Brooke of Lakeland, FL; and two sisters Sophia Anderson of Steubenville & Caroline Wiegel of Chicago, IL.Private services and burial were held at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
