Murdayne Marshall Byrum 83 of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at Trinity West. She was born in Grantsville, WV on February 3, 1920, daughter of the late Richard H. and Ota M. Ferrell Marshall. Murdayne was a member of First Westminster Presbyterian Church; Order of Eastern Star Chapter 73; Query Club; Steubenville Country Club and Williams Country Club. She was a twenty-five year former member of the Heather Twig and Blossom Twig of Ohio Valley Hospital. She had attended Marshall University and West Virginia University and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. Murdayne is survived by her husband George B. Byrum, whom she married on June 18, 1941; one son Mark M. (Mary) Byrum of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania; one daughter Barbara J. Byrum of Columbus, Ohio and one grandson James Byrum of Los Gatos, California. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Susan Haseltine officiating. Private burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio.
