Obituary For Morley J. Holt

Morley J. Holt, 86, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Lancia Villa Vista, Steubenville.  He was born in Tiltonsville, Ohio on August 27, 1927 the son of the late Clarence and Ruby Burns Holt.  Preceded also in death by 3 brothers.  Morley retired with the rank of Sergeant from The Ohio Highway Patrol where he began his career with the Cambridge Post and also serving at Bridgeport, Warren and Steubenville.  After retirement he went on to work at Weirton Steel with over 20 years in plant security.  An avid bowler, he enjoyed bowling at the Holiday Lanes.  He was Methodist by faith and a member of Olive Lodge 210 F & AM Caldwell, OH and a veteran of U.S. Navy.He is survived by his wife Beverly J. Ruby Holt whom he married on May 20, 1953; children Thomas (Jeanne) Holt of Bloomingdale, John Holt and Jane (John) Christopher both of Wintersville, and Ronald (Brenda) Holt of Poland, OH; five grandchildren Shannon (Bryan) Conlon, Jason, Justin and Corey Holt, and Cody Christopher; great grandson Easton Conlon; and numerous nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday 10 a.m.  Pastor Jeff Greco officiating.  FOP service Tuesday 6 p.m.  Burial Fort Steuben.  Memorials contributions may be directed to Charity Hospice.

    Jane and family, I am shocked and very sorry about the loss of your dad. He was so nice and comical. I feel really bad, I just saw it on the internet at work. I am sorry I missed everything.     John, Janie and family: Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family . We are saddened to learn of your loss. Your father is a fine man and he and your Mom did a great job raising all of you. I know you are proud and will always cherish the memories . We are sorry we can not be there in person for you as i am trying to recover from serious illness and as you know Laurie lives in Indiana and Jeff lives in Georgia.
