Obituary For Mildred "Faye" Potkrajac

Mildred “Faye” Potkrajac, 91, of Steubenville, OH passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Sienna Woods.   She was born February 17, 1923 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Miladin and Milica Milosevich Chuich.  Faye was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband Mile Potkrajac on February 3, 1994; son Stephen W. Potkrajac; granddaughter Megan Zdinak; six brothers Mele, Melvin, Robert, Rade, Nick and George Chuich and four sisters Kathryn Davis, Mary Ann Rusinovich, Stella M. Shaw and Laura Chuich.  Surviving are her son George (Debbie) Potkrajac of Toronto, OH; daughter Sharon (Mark) Zdinak of Richmond, OH; step daughter Duka (Nedo) Kukic and her family of Sydney, Australia; sister Jean Saho of Wintersville, OH; five grandchildren Kristy (fiancé Kevin), George (Kristy) Potkrajac, Christopher Zdinak, Stephen (Jady) Potkrajac and Brian Potkrajac and five great grandchildren Paige Wiley, Kenzi Potkrajac, Brayden Matuska, Mason Potkrajac and Luka Potkrajac.  Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Tuesday 1 – 3 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Serbian Cemetery. Pomen service Tuesday 6:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943 or Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, 528 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952.

    We are so saddened at the loss of Aunt Faye our sweet and loving Aunt. She was one special lady and loved by all who knew her. I will forever remember her smile and laugh. I will also never forget the crush she had on my husband, she would say...bring Mac to see me, and I would say why??? her reply was always....so I can look at him. He looks like Tom Selleck. I would tell her she could have him and she'd laugh and laugh. Well, he kissed her forehead and told her how much we loved her on Saturday evening and we are so glad he did. She would have liked that. She will be missed so very much.
