Mildred M. Van Fossen, 89, passed away January 29, 2021 at her home in Richmond, Ohio, after a brief illness. She was born on March 6, 1931 in Fairview, Ohio a daughter of the late Wilbur & Frieda Luyster Gardiner. She was a homemaker and a Christian by faith, attending various churches with her late husband, Joe, both being baptized in November 1985 at Wintersville Baptist Temple. Preceding Mildred in death were her husband Joseph O. Van Fossen on March 18, 1991; sisters May Davidson, Ruth Sudduth & JoAnn Lynn; brothers Carl & Bill Gardiner.
Mildred is survived by her son Dennis (Darla) Van Fossen; three grandchildren Drew (Kaela) Van Fossen, Dustin (Mara) Van Fossen & Denna (Dustin Harrison) Van Fossen; three great grandchildren Brynlee and Emlynn Van Fossen & Adalee Harrison; sister Margaret Paglialunga, who was by her side throughout her illness; sister-in-law Effie Devolld; brother-in-law Harold (Phyllis) Van Fossen; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved to hear about.
The Van Fossen Family would like to thank her caregivers, Norma, Juanita and Kelly for making her journey on this earth complete. A special thank-you to Lindy Longo for her extra care, friendship and fellowship. God puts people in our paths for reasons we can truly appreciate.
Due to the pandemic, all services are private. Burial at Richmond Union Cemetery.
