Milan “Bakey” Vukelic 79 of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Youngwood, PA. on February 4, 1924 a son of the late Milich and Mildred Elich Vukelic. He was a self-employed general contractor. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville. Milan was a charter member of the American Yugoslav Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Steubenville. He served in the Merchant Marines. Preceding him in death were two brothers John and Theodore Vukelic and two sisters Mildred and Sophie Vukelic. Surviving are his wife Louise Gerbo Vukelic; one son Mark (Michele) Vukelic of Steubenville; one daughter Donna McGrath of Belle Mead, New Jersey; one sister Mary Campbell and one brother Mele Vukelic both of Steubenville; and one granddaughter Danielle “Chookie” McGrath. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Friday, friends may call at Holy Resurrection Serbian Church from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Pomen services 7:30 p.m. Thursday
