Michael Henry "Mike" Mularcik was called to the Heavenly Father on June 27, 2015. Born July 29, 1941, the son of the late Michael Joseph and Mary Lee Chinksa Mularcik, he was 73 years of age. He was a loving family man and well-known business man in the Ohio Valley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Ann Monroe Mularcik; daughter, Tracey L. (Kenneth) Westfall of Harrisville, WV; daughter, Jodi Rae (Kevin) Solomon of Charlotte, NC; son, Bradley S.(Paula) of Copley, OH; sister, Nancy Jones of Niagra Falls, NY; brother, David (Jackie) Mularcik of Powhatan Point, OH; brother, Kenneth Mularcik of Huntsville,OH; four grandchildren, Jessica Rae and Joshua Solomon and Bradley, Jr and Frank Mularcik. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Mularcik. Born in Martins Ferry, OH, Mike began his adult life in the St. Clairsville, OH area where he worked as a door to door salesman for Kirby Vacuum Cleaner from 1961 to 1969. He married Ruth Ann Monroe of Shadyside, OH July 19, 1961 and they resided in Provident, OH until 1969. In 1969 he founded Kirby Company of Steubenville, where he operated as a Kirby Area Distributor. Relocating his family to Wintersville, OH in 1973, he continued to expand his business, later changing the name to Mike’s Sweeper Center. He, along with his wife Ruth, operated Mike's Sweeper Center, selling and servicing all makes and models of vacuum cleaners for more than 44 years. In 2013 he sold his business and retired from the vacuum cleaner business. Over the years Mike purchased and remodeled many houses in the Steubenville area and he and Ruth operated these as rentals homes, which he continued until his death. He loved to make old things new again and had a vision that drove him to create warm comfortable living spaces from dilapidated and discarded buildings. Mike was a hard worker who rarely took a break, but when he did, he loved to fish on local lakes with his family and friends and created fun adventures for everyone. He received great joy from providing for other people and made tedious things fun through his own positive attitude. He truly believed anything is possible. When not wetting a line in the lakes, Mike enjoyed rabbit and deer hunting with family and friends. He also loved to listen to old time country music, and took special pleasure in listening to family members sing and play old time songs. Mike, along with Ruth, was active in the American Bell Association Int'l and enjoyed many trips around the US to share with 'bell friends'. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday, July 7th, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Dr. Jack Ernest officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.

Ruth, it's strange that I was wondering about Mike was because I hadn't seen him, and stopped by a house for sale near your home, and when I spoke with you you filled me in. Now I check again and see that Michael has passed from this world to be with the Lord. I had liked you and Mike so much that I stopped in at the shop for the slightest need and even no need at all just to say hi. Though we never got together as friends from there, I certainly did enjoy Mike's wonderful presence and glowing spirit.
