Michael Francis Barrett, loving and devoted husband of Lori (Lewis) Barrett, son of Bill and Sandy (Dylewski) Barrett, passed away on August 7 at the age of 43. Michael will be sadly missed by his wife, his parents, his sister, Kristin (Nick) Casper and their children Alex, Kaitlyn, and Mackenzie Casper, and his brother, Brian (Ronit) Barrett and their children Ben, Zack, and Max, and his niece and nephews Ashley, Justin and Aaron Lewis, and his beloved dogs, Jerome and Jaxx. Michael was born and grew up in Kenton, Ohio and graduated from Kenton High School in 1994. He graduated from Franciscan University, Steubenville, Ohio in 1998 and also took classes at St. Vincent Seminary, Pontifical College Josephinum, and the University of Findlay. Michael married Lori Lewis, daughter of Cathie and the late Keith Lewis, on June 26, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio. Michael and Lori lived in Columbus and then moved to Pensacola, FL several years ago. Michael was a deeply religious person. He was a kind-hearted and caring friend, always devoted to his family. He was very intelligent and had a great sense of humor. We will miss his happiness and smile, especially when the Steelers are winning. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, Ohio on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Donations can be made to the family in the name of Lora Barrett or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Do not stand at my grave and weepDo not stand at my grave and weep,I am not there... I do not sleep.I am the thousand winds that blow...I am the diamond glints on snow...I am the sunlight on ripened grain...I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning's hush,I am the swift uplifting rushOf gentle birds in circling flight...I am the soft star that shines at night.Do not stand at my grave and cry—I am not there... I did not die.

Bill, Sandy and family,I am filled with joy for Michael because he ran a good run, he finished the race and obtained the ultimate prize. His spirit has returned to it's Creator and all the loved ones that went before him. However, my heart breaks for those left behind to bear a world without him. He was kind, gentle, loving, had a forever smile and the world was a little brighter with him in it. The words I'm sorry are insufficient but there are no words to adequately express my sympathy. Please know that you and Lori have been in my thoughts and prayers, where you will remain. With Love and Sincerest Sympathy Nancy

Mr. and Mrs. Barrett, Kristin, Brian and Lori.Kelli and I are so sorry to hear about Michael. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. So many great memories growing up with Brian and your family. I could never forget Michael's smile, his laugh, and all the great sports talks and intense discussions on the Steelers, Pirates, college basketball or any other sports topic. Whether it was wiffleball in the backyard, Little league baseball, basketball at cherry street or in the gym, he was always with us and enjoyed every moment of it and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Michael was a fantastic person!
