Melva D. Yost, 76, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at her residence under the excellent care of Charity Hospice. She was born January 31, 1931 in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of the late Alva D. and Fannie E. Baltzell Tennant. Melva retired from Ohio Valley Hospital as a ward helper. She was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church. Preceding Melva in death were her husband Marvin Yost; infant daughter Michelle Lynn Yost; four brothers Glenn, James, Noah, and John Tennant; nine sisters Margaret Shultz, Mary Dulaney, Martha Tennant, Mabel Woods, Mildred Thomas, Evelyn Spellman, Minnetta Rasel, Maxine “Myrle” Shriver and twin sister Mardell Tennant. Surviving are five daughters Pamela Yost of Mingo Junction, OH, Romaine (John) Gallo of Wintersville, OH, Loretta Chiarenza of Mingo Junction, OH, Kim (Jeff) Hawkins of Wellsburg, WV and Karen (Mark) Bigler of Toronto, OH; brother Charles Tennant of Waynesburg, PA; sister Bonnie L. Seltz of Detroit, MI; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben.
