Melva D. Weisberger passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023, leaving behind her family, who was her greatest joy. She was born in Greensburg, PA to the late William & Sarah Goldstein Davis. Melva married her devoted husband Mark Weisberger in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1990. Also preceding her in death were brothers Stanford and Robert (late Phyllis) Davis, sister Norma (late Lawrence) Brodell and niece Joanne Alpern.
She is survived by her loving children, Dr. Stuart & Ludovica Weisberger and Dr. Lee & Denise Weisberger. Melva is also survived by dear Ada & Joe Spirer and many loving nieces and nephews. Her loving grandchildren are Jeffrey William & Andrea Weisberger, Benjamin Mark & Elizabeth Weisberger, and Jessica May & Spiro Kesaris. Melva’s precious great grandchildren are Elliott Lee Weisberger, Alexander Evan Kesaris, Elliana May Kesaris and Rosalie Davis Weisberger.
Melva graduated from Penn State College in 1945 and began her teaching career in Pittsburgh that same year. She retired from Steubenville City Schools in 1990.
Melva was truly grateful to have dear friends whom she considered her family. To the devoted women, Romaine, Jane and Edna, who made her life at home pleasant and comfortable throughout the years, many thanks are due. Much appreciation to Valley Hospice for their professional and compassionate care in the last week of her life.
Services at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with Rabbi Joshua Lief officiating (visitation one half hour prior). Interment at Beth El section of Union Cemetery.

Mrs Weisberger was my 2nd grade teacher at Roosevelt in the 1980s. She was my absolute favorite teacher! We stayed in touch through most of my adulthood, she attended my graduation party, my bridal shower, my wedding my baby shower. She became such a dear friend to me. She will be greatly missed!
