Obituary For Melissa A. (Simpson) Lawrence

Melissa A. (Simpson) Lawrence, 36, of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her home. She was born September 4, 1974 in Paragould, Arkansas. Melissa graduated from Wintersville High School in 1992 and was a medic in the navy. Preceding Melissa in death were her maternal grandfather Bernal E. Kirby and paternal grandfather Sammy Eugene Simpson. Surviving are her mother Melody (Scott) Christian of Hopedale, OH; father Sammy Lee Simpson of Tacoma, WA; maternal grandmother Marilyn Kirby of Temple, TX; aunt Lauri Shoemaker of Temple, TX; three uncles John Kirby of Huntsville, AL, Shawn Kirby of Temple, TX and Joseph Kirby of Temple, TX; many cousins and dear friend Gloria Longo of Richmond, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 2 – 4 & from 6 until the time of service at 8 p.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating Entombment at Union Cemetery.

    Mel and Scott, words can not express the sincere and heartfelt sadness for your sudden loss. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Everyone at work is praying and thinking of you at this very difficult time. Try to stay strong and have faith that GOD will get you through this and that Melissa is in GOD'S Kingdom now.
