Matilda I. “Tillie” Roberts, 94, of Wintersville passed away on August 15, 2025 at the Valley Hospice North Care Center. Tillie was born on November 14, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Ralph W. & Rena E. Zook Drayer.
Tillie was a member of the Wintersville Baptist Temple.
Tillie is preceded in death by her loving husband James F. “Jim” Roberts and sisters Mabel Starcher & Della Drayer. She is survived by her son Jimmy (Donna) Roberts; grandson Shane (Cheri) Hanlin and step-great-grandson Parker.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday, August 18 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. with Rev. Troy Thacker officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.

Sweet Tillie Roberts was my fifth grade Sunday school teacher at Wintersville Baptist Temple. She and her sisters were some of the most pleasant hard-working women I've ever known. They were some of the first people to tell me about Jesus and how I could be saved. I recently got to visit her in the hospital a few times and our conversations and prayer time was as blessed as always. What an honor to know her and call her my sister in Christ and friend. Condolences to all of her family especially Jimmy. She talked about him when I visited and said he and his wife were so reliable and loving to her. Her life was certainly a testimony to the Lord. When I was alittle girl my nana and pap took me to church. That is when I met Miss Tillie. She was an amazing woman who cared about everyone. She will be missed and I won't forget the memories with her.
