Obituary For Mary Munis

Mary Munis 102, of Salem, OH formerly of Mingo Junction passed away at Essex III of Salem where she was cared for with love and compassion on Sunday June 21, 2009.  She was born in McKeesport, PA. The eldest daughter of Nick and Milica Vignjevich..  Mary was Serbian Orthodox by faith.  She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Munis; daughter Lillian “Tootsie” (James) Sabol; sisters Smilia Byerly and Mildred Vukic.  Mary is survived by her daughter Dorothy Young and her husband David of Salem, OH; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. There will be no visitation.   Services will be held at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 1p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rade Merick officiating  Burial at Union Cemetery.

    Its hard to find the words to say to you what I would like,Mary was always my favorite resident,I have spoken to you before about her,she was always so much fun to talk to and we shared so many good times and laughs.It wont be the same without her,I hope you know how many lives she touched and brightened just seeing her each day. I would have loved to talked to you the night she passed but wanted you to have your time,but please know you are in our hearts Dorothy,you mean a lot to all of us at Essex to,you and Mary were like family to us.Please treasure your memories through this difficult times and know that others care somehow make it a little easier.God Bless

    I wish to extend my deep sympathy after hearing of the passing of Mary. My Mother is a resident on the same floor that Mary was at Essex. I will miss seeing her in the hall.
