Obituary For Mary M. Meatris

Mary M. Meatris, 92, of Steubenville, OH died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Trinity East Skilled Care.  She was born in Steubenville, OH on March 8, 1919 a daughter of the late Albin and Anna Tomaszczyk Waszkiewicz.  Mary was Catholic by faith and had been a member of Triumph of the Cross (Holy Rosary).  Preceded in death by her husband Mike Meatris; brothers Bill, Robert, Frank, Edward and Fred Waszkiewicz; sister Laura Demark.  Mary is survived by her son Michael P. (Judy) Meatris of Steubenville; brother Joe (Shirley) Grykiewicz of Columbus, OH; grandchildren and great grandchildren; special great grandchildren Jon and Josh; several nieces and nephews.  Services will be private at the request of the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The Valley Hospice Foundation, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943.

    John and Family, I have known your Mother for many many years. She and my Mother would sit outside in the summertime and talk for hours while us kids would be out playing. My sister lives next door now but years ago we lived at the bottom of Argonne. Those were the best days and your Mom was so sweet to us. I know that she is in a better place now and she sure loved all of you. God Bless You and you are in my prayers.

    Mike & Judy, I was saddened to read of your Mom's passing. She was always so nice to me when Michele & I would visit her. I remember her getting so excited to tell me about all her Bingo winnings. I don't think she ever missed a night of playing way back when!
