Mary Lois “Toots” Eft, 92, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Gables Care Center. She was born November 2, 1925 in Jefferson County, OH a daughter of the late Charles E. and Wilma Alexander Sutton. Toots was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church, Wintersville Women’s Club and a 4-H advisor. She was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School. Preceding Toots in death were her husband Paul H. Eft on April 10, 1983 whom she married November 8, 1945; three brothers George, Robert and Charles Sutton and a two sisters Martha Crawford and Mildred Powell. Surviving are three sons David (Barb) Eft of Groveport, OH, Robert C. (Susy) Eft of Steubenville, OH and Roy (Kathy) Eft of Fishers, IN; four daughters Carolyn (Larry) Battles of Hilliard, OH, Mary Alice (Tim) Shade of Hilliard, OH, Cathy Eft of Hilliard, OH and Mollie (Tom) McConnell of Richmond, OH; sixteen grandchildren Lynn (Steven) Knowles, Steve (Kristin) Battles, Rachael (Aric) Zimmerman, Paul (Jen) Shade, Matthew (Allison) Shade, Hannah (Paden) Brobst, Jill (Brian) Aubert, Jan (Doug) Wolf, David R. (Abbi) Eft, Steve (Leah) Eft, Stephanie Eft, Jacki (Brad) Purcell, Ed (Kyleigh) McConnell, Josh (Tasha) McConnell, Charli McConnell and Tomi McConnell; 25 great grandchildren Isaac, Evan, Alyssa, Emma, Adam and Ivy Knowles, Nathan Zimmerman, Devon and Riley Krieg, Quinn and Sutton Auberg, Alexandria, Jordy and Jensyn Eft, Cooper and Luca Wolf, Laura and Noah Shade, Brayden, Declan and Callen McConnell, Griffey, Graham and Gus Purcell and Beau Brobst; three great great grandchildren Quinn, Axton and Luna and a sister Joyce (Frank) Clark of Mechanicstown, OH. Friends may call on Friday at Starkdale Presbyterian Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. G. Carl Moore and Pastor Jeff Greco co-officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Arrangements entrusted to Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Boulevard, Wintersville, OH 43953.
