Mary Jane Brown, 76, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Trinity West. She was born in Bloomingdale, Ohio on March 6, 1938 a daughter of the late John Michael and Mary Gertrude Irwin Hill. Mary worked as a cook at the former St. John Medical Center. She retired as a cook from Ohio Valley Hospital. Preceding Mary in death were her brother John Hill and four sisters Rose Hibbits, Betty Hibbits, Alice “Toots” Brandt and Nancy Mark. Surviving are her daughter Barbara (Arthur) Fleishour of Steubenville, OH; three sons Steve Brown, Jeff Brown and Robert (Jessica) Brown all of Wintersville, OH; sister Catherine “Kay” Hill of Wintersville, OH; eight grandchildren Aaron Gambos, Jerry Brown, Rebecca Coberly, Steven Brown, Amy Wade, Mara Brown, Josh Brown and Zach Brown and four great grandchildren Aiden Brown, Lyla Brown, David Kniceley and McKinley Brown. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville Friday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben

I worked with Mary at the Downtown Bakery right before her retirement. She was so sweet and a joy to be around. Her unique sense of humor always gave me a smile. So sorry to hear of her loss. She will be fondly remembered.
