Obituary For Mary E. Shields

Mary E. Shields, 91, of Steubenville, OH died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Life Line Hospital.  She was born in Steubenville on August 2, 1920 a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Paul Green.  Mary was a member of  Buckeye Club, Sunset Club,  Nifty Sixers Dance Club, The Cookie Club, Woman’s Christian Fellowship and  Woman’s Republican Club.  Preceded in death by her husband Thurmon W. Shields, Jr.; brothers Paul, Don and Bob Green; sisters Delores Kamerer, Margaret Parker and Jean Rawson.  Mary is survived by her four sons James (Patty) Shields of Naples, FL, William “Bill” Shields of Steubenville,  Keith (Jane) Shields of Laurel, DE and George Shields of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Kevin, Kelly and Joe Shields, Angel Oldaker, Maranda Kay, Leslie Jo, Emma and Benjamin Shields.  Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave’s), 611 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10a.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
