Mary E. Kulabonish Hathaway, 82, of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born July 19, 1934 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a daughter of the late Wasco J. and Mary McCormick Kulabonish. Mary worked as a secretary for Imperial Glass. She had seven foster sons she cared for. She was an officer in the Ohio PTA serving as Legislation Director covering 21 counties. Mary was a longtime member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church. Mary graduated in 1952 from Bridgeport High School. Preceding Mary in death were her husband Russell E. Hathaway; son-in-law Paul Michetti; and two brothers Paul and Charles Kulabonish. Surviving are her children Russell (MariAnn) Hathaway, Jr. of Canonsburg, PA, Kaye Michetti of Wintersville, OH, Frank Hathaway of Marengo, OH, Hope Spon of Wintersville, OH, Lynn (Marybeth) Hathaway of Baton Rouge, LA and Eve (Keith Gengras) Hathaway of Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren Frank, Jr., Brittany, Stacia, Morgen, Jonathan, Marco, James, Elizabeth, Jackson and Rosalie; great grandson Jordan and sister Sarah (Ronald) Figurski of Adena, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Bullard officiating. Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens.
