My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. I love Mary and thought of her and you all often. Mary always welcomed me into her home. I remember the first day meeting her while I was sitting on the dog box out back and stopping at her house everyday after school. At that time it was a treat to stop and eat Cinnamon Life cereal or no bake cookies; however, it wasn't until years later I learned the real treat was in the life lessons I learned from Mary. God Bless. From the little annoying neighborhood girl, Jill

I loved my aunt and will cherish my memories of her. I loved her VW bus when she drove me around, she taught me to sew, and I got my orderly house by following her example. She always had great cookies waiting for you in her kitchen. My love to my dear cousins and my Uncle Sam.

Mary was a very special mother to three beautiful women. They all have grown and moved on to their own lives, but Mary is very much a part of them. My thoughts are with you Gretchen, Teeny, Roberta. Mr. Delavo, Mary was the kind of mom I wanted to be 🙂 I am sorry for your loss. Jenny Frobose

My Aunt Mary will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her creativity and her "you can do it too" attitude are some of her qualities that I will always remember and carry with me. My love and prayers go out to Uncle Sam and my cousins.

Being a family friend and neighbor on Lincoln Ave., Mary was one of the nicest and sweetest women I have ever met. I played with her daughters at the DeLavo home. My parents Jabby and Petey thought so much of Mary. She did a lot of sewing for my mother over the years. I last saw Mary ( My family always called her Mary Henry) when I visited Edie and Audrey Kerr a few years ago. Mary was just as I remembered her. I know she loved her family above all else and liked to take bus trips to visit them. I send my condolences to her family and know that Mary was one of the great ladies of Steubenville and Wintersville.

Lillian and Gretchen, I was in Lillian's class at Lincoln School. I live in Mansfield now but try to keep up with Steubenville news. I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I can picture her now at various school functions. I know it will be difficult since I lost my parents in 2007 and 2008. I pray that you will seek comfort from Jesus and that you are able to support each other. Sincerely, June Ruff Leasure
