Mary E. Archer, 97, of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Villa Vista. She was born August 21, 1917 in New Cumberland, WV a daughter of the late Emmett C. & Olive McCafferty Devlin. She was a retired secretary from Spahn’s Dairy and the last member of New Cumberland High School Class of 1935. Preceding Mary in death were her husband Kenneth E. Archer, whom she married February 5, 1937 and he passed away on April 12, 1987; son Keith Craig Archer; sons-in-law Jack Anderson, Elvis “Red” Crook & Delmis Nottingham; sister Loretta Sandy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mildred & Carl Modar.Mary is survived by her children Janet (Thomas) Parsanko of Schererville, IN, Myrna Anderson of Mingo Jct., Maureen Kay Crook of Wintersville, Frances Nottingham of St. Clairsville, and Charles (Peggy) Archer of O’Fallon, MO; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sisters Jean Pierce of San Angelo, TX & Catherine Mostowski of Weirton, WV.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 1-4 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating. Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens.Mary’s Family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff of Villa Vista, family and friends.
