It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward “Ed” Stanley Kosik on October 12th, 2024 at the age of 79 years.
Ed, a long time resident of the Kleskun area, passed away at his residence on the farm at the age of 79 years. Ed was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He attended school in Sexsmith and Grande Prairie. Upon leaving school, he was employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia, first in Grande Prairie and then transferred to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. He spent a year and a half in Yellowknife before he realized that his financial future was not in the banking industry, at which time he returned to Grande Prairie and took up farming on the family farm and consulting on rigs until his semi-retirement.
Ed is survived by his brother John of Leduc, sister Ann of Calgary, brother Albert (Gladys) of Grande Prairie, brother Ken (Fern) of Grande Prairie, stepson Will Tront of Grande Prairie, stepson Rick Tront of Edmonton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his loving wife Lena, brother Walter, sister Vicky, his father Stanley and mother Francis.
A Funeral Service for the late Ed Kosik will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Friday, November 1st, 2024, at 11:00am, with a viewing held beforehand at 10:00am.
