Martin A. “Marty” Martinette, Sr. 85, of Weirton, WV formerly of Wintersville, OH died Monday, December 14, 2009. He was born in McKeesport, PA on April 16, 1924 the son of the late Alexander S. and Maribelle Campbell Martinette. Marty was Catholic by faith, past president of Steubenville Kiwanis, past lieutenant governor of Kiwanis District 19 and past member of Wintersville Chamber of Commerce. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and D.A.V. life member. Marty was retired from J.C Penny and Sears Roebuck where he worked in sales, and he also worked for WSTV and WEIR radio stations in sales. Survived by sons Martin Martinette, Jr. of Zanesville, OH and Daniel (Claudia) Martinette of Hopedale, OH; daughter Aleta (John) Vargo of Tiltonsville, OH; former wife Dorothy Martinette of Wintersville; companion Patricia Wilson of Weirton, WV; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Noon Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating (Everyone please meet at church). Burial at Cemetery of the Alleghenies.Vigil services 6:30 p.m. Thursday
