Obituary For Martha L. Wright

Martha L. Wright, 96, of Wintersville passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Lancia Villa Vista. She was born in Steubenville on May 30, 1926 a daughter of the late Carl and Louise Walton Shaw. Martha was a member of Two Ridges Presbyterian Church and its women’s circle. She was an avid square dancer and enjoyed playing 500 bid with her card club for over 50 years. She was retired from the former St. John Hospital where she worked in employee health. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Denzil C. Wright; brothers Major Robert Shaw and Jim Shaw; sisters Shirley, Dorothy and Jean Shaw; grandson Noah Wright. Martha is survived by her children William Wright and his wife Janet Weber, Ronald (Mary Ann) Wright and Janet Wright Osborne; sisters Joanne Raha, Ruth Jackson and Carolyn (Bill) Haislett; grandchildren David (Danielle) Osborne, Dustin Osborne and his companion Colleen, Mathew Wright, Brian (Amy) Wright and Cai Wright; great grandchildren Olivia and Ava Osborne and Connor Wright; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Sunday from 3-5p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, 10a.m. with Rev. Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to Two Ridges Presbyterian Church.

    Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs , I am sorry for your loss. Ron you were a joy to your mother all your life, and a huge comfort to her over these past few months. It's sad to lose her, but I hope it helps you to feel good about the way you were always there for your Mom. Please remember how it felt to laugh with her and be loved by her. I hope those memories will bring comfort in time, I feel so blessed to have had the pleasure of meeting Martha and spending some time with her, my heart goes out to you and your family.

    Ron and family, Your Mom was such a lovely person , my heart goes out to you right now. I hope it will bring comfort to you when you remember how it felt to laugh with Martha and to be loved by her. You were a joy to your mother all your life, and a huge comfort to her over these past few months. It's sad to lose her, but I hope you feel at ease knowing that you were there for her. It's hard to say goodbye to your Mom no matter your age, May God's peace that surpasses all understanding be a comfort to you. I feel blessed to have met Martha and to have been able to spend some time with her, Thank you for allowing us to care for your mother during her time of need.

    We all grew up together on Ward Drive, So many wonderful memories .Bill,Ron , and Janet, my condolences to You and your loved ones. The Wright family was such a big part of my childhood, she will be missed but never forgotten.
