Martha E. Dean, 93, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on April 16, 2025 at Valley Hospice North Care Center. Martha was born on June 2, 1931 in Follansbee, WV a daughter of the late Ralph & Eddyth Gough Hardsouk. She was a member of Bell Chapel United Methodist Church.
Martha was a devout Christian who was very active at Bell Chapel for over 50 years, making Easter fudge and candy. She loved to crochet providing homemade slippers and blankets to nursing homes and hospitals. She also loved to sew, cook and paint. Most of all she loved her family always hosting family events in her home.
Martha is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles H. Dean and brother William Hardsouk. She is survived by her children Bill (Tina) Dean, Debbie (Jody) Boyd & Robert (Jess) Dean. Martha had seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Martha’s name to the Good Samaritan Fund at Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, 3419 State Route 213, Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
Martha’s family would like to extend great appreciation to Valley Hospice and The Carriage Inn of Steubenville for the love and care they provided for Martha.

Martha was a dear, on Thanksgiving for the turkey fund she would try to trick me by asking religious guestions ,the the congregation thought I was in but she tried to test my Bible knowledge. They all got a kick out of it. She was a true Saint. Rev. Jeff Proya
