Marlyn J. Houghton 67 of Steubenville lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 26,2003. Marlyn died as she had lived , surrounding herself with family and friends. She was born in Steubenville, OH on June 16, 1935 the daughter to the late Alvin T. and Dolores Green Kamerer. Marlyn was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Steubenville, Weirton 688 Moose, and the Golden Girls Bowling League. She enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, playing cards; watching Steubenville Big Red, OSU and Steelers football games. As well as shopping at the mall on a regular basis. Marlyn was preceded in death by her late husband Robert E. Houghton and parents. Surviving are her son Rocky (Kathy) Taylor of N. Olmsted, OH and daughter Nancy (Dan) Taylor Blackstone of Columbus, OH ; her two grandsons Peter and Matthew Taylor; brothers Ted (Carol) Kamerer of Merced, CA and Dick Kamerer of Mountain Home, Idaho; aunt Mary Shields of Steubenville; many nieces ,nephews and a host of very loving devoted friends. She was a wonderful, fun loving, exceptional human being who will be missed by all who knew her. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd. Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9, where services will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Rev. Doug Shoaff officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
