Marlene Joanne Smith Beekman 65 of Wintersville died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Trinity West. She was born in Steubenville on April 21, 1939 a daughter of the late George M. Smith, Jr. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Steubenville and a graduate of Steubenville High School. Marlene was retired from Bank One Data Center, Toronto, where she worked in the Loan Dept. She is survived by her husband William L. Beekman, daughter Amy Beekman of Columbus, OH, sons David Beekman of Akron, OH and Doug (Karen) Beekman of Wintersville, her mother Ethel M. Daily Smith of Steubenville, brother Robert (Virginia) Smith of Wintersville, granddaughter Kristin Beekman. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am with Rev. Walter Coppersmith officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
