I had met Mario many times as a child 40 years ago when visiting family in Steubenville. About 6 years ago while passing through the area I decided to visit the restaurant I remembered so well as a child hoping that maybe I would run into him. To my surprise he was there and remembered me. He was a lovely man. My condolences to the family.

A very sad day in the Weirton / Steubenville area with the passing of Mario. I met Mario in 1952 and we remained friends through the years. When ever I made visits to Weirton he was high on my list for a visit and reminiscing old times. My sympathy to the remaining family.

I was so sorry to hear this. He was a nice guy, and always so respectful. I worked at Mario's for a short time quite a few years ago, and always enjoyed interacting with Mario, when he'd come in. Mary worked at the DQ across the street, and he would sometimes come through the drive-thru for a cone. She tells me she always enjoyed taking to him. We were at the restaurant a while back, and I commented on the picture of him in his Italian army uniform, and told him that WW2 is an interest of mine. I asked him what it was like, fighting in Russia. He said, simply, " it was damn cold!".God bless his memory, and God bless you all. So sorry for your loss.
