Obituary For Marilyn E. Scheaffer

Marilyn E. Scheaffer, 50, of Wintersville, OH passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in Boston, MA. She was born in Steubenville on March 10, 1968 a daughter of the late Augustus and Joyce M. Snodgrass Evans, Jr. Marilyn had lived in Ohio, Florida, Connecticut, Maryland and was a resident of Wintersville at the time of her death. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up the darkest room. She had a warrior’s spirit, which she used to fight cancer for nearly a decade. She loved her dogs, cats and horses as much as she did her family and was an accomplished equestrian in several disciplines. She never met a stranger and would help anyone with anything. Her spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of many. Marilyn is survived by her husband Doug; sisters Elaine (Dave) Spear, Brenda (Greg) Hough; brother Kenneth (Lynn) Evans and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 3-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. I'm  so sorry for your loss.  I haven't seen Marilyn for years but I remember being at a gas station in WIntersville in the late 80's probably. The smiling young woman at the next pump said "Well hello cousin!  It was Marilyn.  She recognized me somehow but I didn't recognize her.  We had a laugh about it.  Heartfelt condolences and love to you and your family.

I am so sad to learn of this.   I had been friends with Marilyn in high school.  We lost touch like people do.  A few years later, I went to Lake Erie College - I was in the Equine program, came home and visited her and Elaine one day at their farm.  I do remember I rode a horse that was a cross between a QH and a Clydesdale - but he was smaller than one, thank goodness.   Cute pony, though!  I had only recently "found" Marilyn again on FB and it was in the midst of this battle she was fighting.   This breaks my heart.  She was funny, smart and I am so sorry I was not in touch with her sooner.   Elaine, I am thinking and praying about you and your family at this time.   Doug I have never met you, but you seem like a wonderful husband and I am glad you were a partner to my friend.   God Bless you all.

I'm so going to miss Marilyn.  My heart is truly broken for you Doug and all of her siblings and friends. She was always so upbeat and happy every time I talked to her or ran into her at the store.  She couldn't have asked for a better husband and friend Doug.  I pray for your healing as you learn to walk thru this life without her. xoxoxox

Doug and family, my heart goes out to all of you.  Marilyn was such an amazing lady with the biggest heart.  She showed nothing but kindness to me for the 4 short years I knew her.  When I first started Cutting, she was so encouraging and was so genuinely happy for everyone at the shows.  I will miss her smiling face.  She touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. I'm so happy to have met her and to call her my friend.  God bless your family.
