Obituary For Margaret V. Yingst

Margaret V. Yingst, 93, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Trinity West.  She was born October 30, 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Gladys McCain Gerke.  Margaret was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Club and Knights of Pythias Women’s Association.  She retired from Sears and Roebuck.  Preceding her in death were her husband George E. Yingst and two sisters Esther Murray and Gloria Jean Gerke.  Surviving are her son Harry (Jacqueline) Yingst of Smithfield, OH; daughter Nancy (Peter) Kale of Rayland, OH nephew Larry Murray of Mingo Junction, OH; four grandchildren Eric M. Yingst, Neva Fox, Kurt Kale and Mica Kale and eight great grandchildren.   Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Road, Mingo Junction on Tuesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. and at Harmony United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sam Davis officiating.  Burial at Northern Cemetery, Smithfield.  Memorial donations may be directed to Harmony United Methodist Church.

    Dear Harry and family. I am so saddened to learn of the death of your dear mother. Please accept my sincere condolences. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. That is hard to come by. I know that God will be smiling when he meets her at the gates of heaven. She sure did make others smile.

    Larry Sr., Larry Jr., Adam and families---So sorry to hear of Aunt Peg's passing. She was always fun to be around when we made the 'long drive' to Mingo to visit you all. I will never forget the story of her being nice to the hobo and then he left markings on her front porch for other hobos. Truly a genuine and classy lady!! Love and prayers to you all!! xoxo
