Margaret J. “Toots” (Jane) Poole Ksiazek, 87, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday February 12, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. Toots was born on January 29, 1936, a daughter of the late Harmon Walter & Margaret Wilson Poole. She was a secretary for the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Dept., Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Ohio River Valley Lodge, No. 231 and a member of the Steubenville Lodge 619 Loyal Order of Moose. Toots spent countless Fridays at the Elks lodge cooking fish for all her fellow members and patrons. She also was very proficient at crocheting, creating many afghan quilts for family and friends.
Toots is preceded in death by her husband Alexander Ksiazek; four brothers Walter, George, Tom & Jake Poole and one sister Jenna Battolochi.
She is survived by daughter Deanna J. (fiancé James Cairns) Law; two sons John T. Gibson & Walt W. (Karen) Gibson; four grandchildren Brandon (Ronda) Law, John T. Gibson Jr., Dr. Ashten (Dr. Charles) Ebersbacher & Justin Gibson; four great grandchildren Alec Swiger, Luke, Summer & Mark Geschiedr; two sisters Ruth Ann (Larry) Cummings & Twila (fiancé Jim Beadnell) Carpenter and brother Denzel Jones.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio 43953 on Thursday February 16, 2023, from 4 pm – 6 pm where services will be held on Friday at 11 am with Rev. Steve Modranski officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
