Marcella B. Witt, 97, of Richmond, Ohio was peacefully called home on August 1, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Wintersville, Ohio on January 29, 1926 a daughter of the late William Stanton & Beatha Stewart Long.
A devoted and loyal caregiver, Marcella loved working with the elderly. She worked for over 35 years as a Nurse’s aide and a Physical Therapy aide for the Lancia Family. Her caring and giving nature was also evident in how she treated her family that recently celebrated having six generations. Marcella was a Girl Scout leader and a dedicated member of Calvary Church in Steubenville, Ohio.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Witt; brother Stanton “Buz” Long; sister Phyllis Long; grandson Stewart Sisley, Jr. and son-in-law Richard Neal.
Marcella is survived by four daughters Phyllis Neal, Pamela (Von Michael) Damis, Cynthia (Wayne) Harda and Patricia (John Platzer) Snider; six grandchildren Charles & Frank LeRoy, Nick (Lynnie) Damis, Aimee (Luke Savage) Trew and Brandon & Angela Snider; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.
Private service and burial will be held at Fort Steuben Burial Estates with Rev. John Kotsanos officiating.
Marcella’s family would like to send a special thank you to Pastor John and First Lady Rachel Kotsanos, Lisa Kush – APRN-CNP and Valley Hospice.
