Madeline R. “Mite” Rose, 89, of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home. She was born August 16, 1921 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Raymond and Patricia Cash Long. Madeline retired from Ohio Valley Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Madeline was preceded in death by her husband James M. Rose; sister Madge Evelyn Clark and nephew Matthew Clark. Surviving are her son Michael (Karen) DiLeonardo of Steubenville, OH; two grandchildren Michelle (Sean Eitel) DiLeonardo of Streetsboro, OH and David DiLeonardo of Steubenville, OH; brother Bill “Boy” (Nancy) Long of Gainesville, FL; special niece Deborah (Mike) McCullough of Steubenville, OH; nephew Bill (Joyce) Clark and many other nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Wednesday 6 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Forbes officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
