M. Maxine Johnson, 85, of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday evening, September 18, 2006 at Trinity West. She was born December 13, 1920 in Hamilton, Ohio a daughter of the late Ernest Burt and Katherine Huffman Johnson. The class secretary and 1938 graduate of Steubenville High School, Maxine was a member of Buena Vista U.M. Church. She is an employee of A.A.R.P. Senior Employment Office clerical staff and retired from Beneficial Finance and DeLelles Music Studio. Surviving are her sister Helen (Bruce) LaRue of Steubenville; nieces Mary (George) Barnes of Amsterdam, Ohio & Martha (Philip) Jordan of High Wyckam, England; nephew John LaRue of Columbia, Maryland and great nieces Katherine and Caroline Jordan. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Thursday 4-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glenn Perdue officiating. Graveside services noon Saturday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Steeles Tavern, Virginia. Memorials may be directed to the Womens Society of Buena Vista U.M. Church.
