Louis Wrkich 73 of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Lancia Villa Royale. He was born in Duncanwood, Ohio on January 25, 1930 a son of the late George and Mary Prohart Wrkich. He was a member of Starkdale U.P. Church; Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and Mingo Sportsmans Club. Louis was retired from National Steel Corp., having worked in the B.O.P. at Weirton Steel Co. He was preceded in death by three brothers Joseph, George and Frank Wrkich. Surviving are his wife Barbara Halley Wrkich whom he married on August 25, 1950; one son Gregory (Penny) Wrkich of Wintersville, Ohio; two daughters Bonnie (Jack) Giusto of Steubenville and Lisa (Kenny) Wells of Wintersville; six grandchildren Ryan Giusto, Staci Copeland, Natalie Giusto, Alyssa Wrkich, Kelly Wells and Kera Wells; two great grandchildren Jonathan Giusto and Abby Copeland; four sisters Margaret Wroten of Smithfield, Ohio, Rosemarie Germovsek of Strabene, PA, Mary Smith of Martins Ferry, Ohio and Christina Kasprzak of Weirton; two sisters-in-law Mrs. George Wrkich and Mrs. Joseph Wrkich; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday 2-4 and 7-9; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. John Zuercher officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to Starkdale Church or Valley Hospice.
