Louis “Geeg” Petrozzi, 87 of Naples, FL, peacefully passed away, December 19, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 15, 1921 in Mingo Junction, OH a son of the late Loretto and Mary (Morocco) Petrozzi. He was originally from Steubenville, OH , he attended St Pius X and Our Lady of Lourdes Parishes where he was active in the Knights of Columbus. Louis served his country in the U.S. Army with the Military Police from 1945 to 1948. After retiring from Weirton Steel with 34 years of service, he and his wife Mary settled in Naples, FL where they were members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; brothers Anthony, Alfonso and Rocco; sisters Palma (Patrick) Cassidy and Adeline (Henry) Paravano and sister-in-law Marie Petrozzi. More than anything, Lou enjoyed spending time and sharing stories with family and friends. He enjoyed the craft of woodworking and he shared those skills in many ways with others. Louis is survived by and happily married to Mary (Vallera) Petrozzi for 61 years; daughter Josie (Tim) Reno of Columbus, OH; sons Jim (Sandy) Petrozzi and Lou (Charlene) Petrozzi, both of Wintersville, OH; brothers Armand Petrozzi of Brilliant, OH, Dominic (Marianne) Petrozzi of Mingo Junction and Atillio (Louise) Petrozzi of St. Clairsville, OH; sisters Pearl Everson of Westerville, OH and Lucille (James) Riley of St. Clairsville; sisters-in-law Ellen, Minda and Annette Petrozzi; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and beloved as “Uncle Geeg” by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH. Funeral liturgy with Mass with be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, 10a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Msgr. Kurt Kemo as celebrant. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil services 3:45p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105-3847
