Obituary For Loren A. Hosterman

Loren Alva Hosterman, 72, of Wintersville, OH passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Select Specialty in Weirton, WV.

He was born in Steubenville, OH on December 7, 1952, a son of the late Robert and Marion Liddick Hosterman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Hosterman and a sister, Twila Rogers.

Loren was a graduate of Wintersville High School. After graduation, he was employed by Weirton Steel as a carpenter until his retirement. After retirement, he worked in the warehouse at Sears and also was the groundskeeper and church sexton at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church. Loren enjoyed reading, listening to the oldies, playing golf, and spending time with all of his girls.

He is survived by his adoring wife and love of his life, Tami Benedict Hosterman; two daughters, Erin (Sean) Moores of Toronto, OH and Katie (Matthew) Emley of Wintersville, OH; five granddaughters, Abigail Saffell, Harper Moores, and Maci, Quinn, and Logan Emley; two sisters Ronda (Larry) Mattern and Lavonne (Ed) Gribben; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Dunlope- Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and also on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of his funeral services at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.

We would like to thank our wonderful medical community for caring for Loren over the past seven months. Dr. Ramana Murty, Dr. Amit Nahata, Dr. Kenneth Woods, and most of all “Doc Rachel Capp” and the wonderful, caring staff at Allegheny General Hospital and Select Specialty.

Memorial donations can be made to the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, Ohio 43953.
