Linda Richardson, 73, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West. She was born on March 29, 1949 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late Cornelius & Carole Hamm Jacobsen.
Everyone who knew Linda Richardson felt the warmth of her loving and kind nature. Her husband, James D. Richardson, described her as "beautiful both inside and out." Linda's siblings, husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and others were all impacted by her boundless compassion. Even when she was going through tough times, her selflessness and genuine desire to fulfill the roles Christ instilled within her heart made itself known, with her saying, "All I want to be is a grandmother." She was inseparable from the love of her life James Richardson; whenever he was out of sight for an instant a "Where's Jimmy?" would be soon to follow. The mother-daughter bond she shared with daughter Tonia Hervey was remarkable. Linda made it known that she loved her "baby girl," and her daughter reciprocated that love in the same measure until the end.
Linda was not only a kind and loving person but also an incredibly creative one. She was a skilled quilter and gifted her handmade quilts to those she loved. As children, her grandchildren were surrounded by her beautiful paintings, and she always made time to play games and build Legos with them. She was not just a grandmother but also their buddy.
Linda fought tirelessly for her life, and her family witnessed her strength and determination. There is no doubt in the hearts of those who know and love her where she is now, and we look forward to seeing her and to her seeing us.
Linda is survived by her husband James D. Richardson; daughter Tonia (Shawn) Hervey; two grandsons Chase & Wyatt Hervey; siblings Mary Ann Jacobsen, Virginia “Ginny” Meredith, Terri (Bob) Wenner, Wesley (Cheryl) Jacobsen, Kimberly (Bill) Custer & Jeffrey (Liz) Jacobsen.

Aunt Linda was one of the most gracious, devoted, giving, thoughtful people I ever known. Nothing about her was self-centered she always cared for others over and above herself I think of her fondly and how much joy she brought to others through her actions, and in particular her cooking. When we made trips up north from Fort Lauderdale, when I was younger, I always looked forward to her homemade lasagna. I am comforted, knowing she is with her mother, father, brother and my mother. Her legacy is filled with loving people like my uncle Jim, cousin, Tonya, and her family and my beloved, uncles and aunts. Condolences to the Richardson family and my aunts and uncles and cousins. Love, Anita.
